PML designed this differential cover for the American Axle rear end on Duramax trucks with the Allison transmission. The cover has space at the top and includes longer bolts for the brake bracket.
These trucks can also use PML Part Number 10361, which has a different fin pattern, less capacity and requires the brake bracket at the 12 o'clock position to be bent.
PML AAM 11.5, 11.8" (292mm) differential cover for GM trucks is designed for:
- 2001 and newer Sierra/Silverado 2500HD with Duramax diesel
- 2007 Sierra/Silverado 2500HD Classic with Duramax diesel
- 2001 to 2006 Sierra/Silverado 3500 with 8.1 V8 gas engine or Duramax diesel
- 2007 Sierra/Silverado 3500 Classic with 8.1 V8 gas engine or Duramax diesel
- 2007 and newer Sierra/Silverado 3500HD with Duramax diesel
- Some 2007 and newer Sierra/Silverado 3500HD with 6.0 V8 gas engine (some have the American Axle 10.5" differential)
2019 and newer trucks: These trucks may have the similar AAM 12", starting around 2020 models. Please see PML Project, Part Number 11176. If you have the new AAM 12", let us know: : yourcovers@pmli.com or 310-671-4345.
Dodge Trucks: If you have a Dodge truck with this axle, we make a cover specifically for that application since Dodge trucks have the spare tire closer to the stock cover and need more clearance. See PML Part Number 10361 or PML Part Number 11147.
The differential cover has oil fill/level check hole and a drain hole with a magnetic plug to facilitate oil changes.
If you have an oversized spare tire, you may need to move the tire towards the rear. There is tube that holds the spare tire in place and the position can be easily adjusted.

Installations
2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali
Status Custom Shop in Rockwall, TX, installed a polish finish cover on their build of a 2016 GMC 2500 Denali. The truck has a 10 inch FTS lift, powder coated Illusion Purple, with 26x16 American Force 2 piece Spartans wrapped in black bear, 37/13.50 tires, Diamond Audio HEX Pro Series.

2012 Ram 2500 Diesel 4x4
The PML front and rear differential covers look great in custom powder coat. The covers started in the natural as-cast finish and Kevin had them powder coated with the rest of the suspension to a custom teal blue.
Kevin's 2012 Ram Megacab is a 2019 SEMA Show truck. The truck is also known as the "Alberta Adventurer" and features an 8 inch lift, BDS long arms, and American Force wheels.

2007 Chevy Silverado 3500
This 2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 carries a heavy load with the help of this PML differential cover. The aluminum construction and extra capacity help keep the fluid cool for less wear and tear on the gears and seals. And it looks great.

2001 2500HD Duramax Diesel
PML differential cover shown in as-cast finish on a 2001 2500HD Allison Duramax Diesel.
The brackets from the stock cover work well with the PML cover to maintain the cable routing.
